Ku-ring-gai Community Workshop (The Shed)

The Ku-ring-gai Men’s Shed is an integral part of our community, offering a well-equipped space where men and women come together to socialise, work on projects, and give back to their community. Their activities span personal projects, income-generating endeavours, and community initiatives, all fuelled by a shared passion for making a difference.

In 2012, KFSL proudly donated a Toyota ute to The Shed, a crucial tool for their community endeavours. With the gracious support of Phil McCarroll Toyota, who subsidised the cost and provided free servicing for a decade, this donation became a reality.

In the years since then, the ute has been put to excellent use in community projects including:

  • Pymble Public School; in 2019 The Shed members built outdoor tables for their playground, financed by a Community Grant.
  • Studio ARTES; in 2018 built a workbench to be used by the Studio’s members. This project was financed by a $500 Staff Grant.
  • Turramurra High School. In 2014 we partnered in the Inside Out Project creating an interactive outdoor learning environment. The Shed built all the outdoor seating for this massive project.
  • The Turramurra Community; building and maintaining a community notice board located on both sides of Turramurra station.
This is one of our very proud Community Projects – Thanks to you, our community!
